The micro lidar camera dirty

All of a sudden I keep getting micro lidar dirty camera warning .I have cleaned it and it still comes back up … it’s driving me mad Cus it’s prob every second print it comes up …
What I have noticed is it gets the message just after it reads the calibration on the right side of build plate …

Question 1: could filament string blowing from a hot end that’s not cleaned properly do this ?

Question 2 …any ideas how to turn it off as it does not stop print or effect it in any way .it does the filament calibration ok and reads first layer with no problems

If I turn power off when get message and back on again when I click resume it does not come back on

I have tried in a dark room and full bright with. O difference …
Any one else had this annoying issue …

Just had that as well (again). Since my calibration patch was clean, I was rather puzzled why the message kept coming up. Turned out I had (again) cleaned everything but the recessed lens.

As for nozzle attached strings potentially contaminating the pic, try unloading filament before running the Lidar calibration from the print tools menu.

Have cleaned the correct lens numerous times will try the removing filament and see if that gets rid of it …thanks

While you are running the Lidar calibration, use your phone camera to see the laser line. Check that it is on the calibration patch.

I have started getting this too…just this past weekend. I cleaned the recessed lens probably 3 times and would get the message again on the second print after.

I dug online and saw a video suggesting that you have to clean the recessed lens and also two small lenses on the side. I tried that, then did a LIDAR calibration, and it seems to have worked.

Here you go. He doesn’t really show how to clean the side lenses, but he points them out. They’re two small slits…you can see them better if you take the cover off. I ran over them with the microfiber cloth and it seems to have helped. Definitely run a calibration after!

Got to give praise to Bambu
I raised a support ticket less than 24 hrs ago they replied in middle of night (uk time) saying the LiDAR is saying there water on lens

(god knows How it knows that) and shows no fault

.but because I have said I keep
Cleaning it with iso alcohol and it keeps
Happening the they would send me a new LiDAR.

Just had email saying DPD have details and it will
Be with me within
Few days…

Update : I did what the video that one of members pointed me out to and it’s seems
To have gone ,it was coming on every second print so not 100% it’s cured it but will update .
TBH ,I ok now , knowing Bambu have my back on this …
That’s why I bought a Bambu after years of Creality problems …

For anyone still experiencing this issue and landing here from google. The lens might be dirty on the INSIDE.

Bought a 2nd hand X1C with 5500hrs and it always had this warning. Finally i found a layer of dirt on the inside of the lens after disassembling the cover

FIX (at your own risk):

  • Follow the Bambu Lab wiki guide to (carefully!) remove the lidar housing
  • Shine a bright light over it to highlight potential dirt on the inside (will show up as a circle on the center of the glass, because the opening is smaller)
  • use a q-tip with rubbing alcohol to clean the inside of the lens. Check with the light and clean until the circle is gone.
  • re-assemble the lidar housing
  • clean the lens on the outside as well after handling
  • run lidar calibration.
  • Enjoy error message free printing
