The nozzle offset calibration keeps failing

The nozzle offset calibration indicates significant deviation, possibly caused by an additional heat insulation sheet installed on the right nozzle heating base. Please verify this and attempt the calibration again.

It just keeps saying this error message above.

Is this because I removed something in the heating parts during removing BLOB?

I removed this parts. Does it matter?

Yes, the part you removed can definitely be the cause of that error. From the picture, it looks like you removed the heat insulation sheet from the side of the heater block when clearing the blob.

That insulation sheet is important because it both thermally insulates the heater block and slightly affects the shape/position that the nozzle offset calibration sensor detects. Without it, the calibration can see a “significant deviation” because the measured geometry has changed. It can also change the heat distribution, which may cause a tiny nozzle height shift.

In short:

Yes, it matters.

You’ll need to replace the missing insulation sheet (or get the correct spare part from Bambu Lab) for the calibration to pass.

Without it, the error will likely keep appearing.

I would say — until it doesn’t.
Try printing something like this and check the result. I would definitely replace the broken part, as the missing component is causing an error.

Sadly you are ignoring what I said in the other thread and double post for the same problem. I came up with so many explainations and this feels very disrespectful for the time others spend helping you. Beside this error you are in a high risk burning down your home - but so what, it prints well. Please bring your printer in its original condition

I posted as a new topic since I’ve got this kind of error other than BLOB.

There’s one rule to rule them all:
If you’re not absolutely sure what you’re doing, never operate a machine that’s been modified or has a broken part.

If you are an expert and fully understand exactly what the damaged part does — and doesn’t do — and the potential problems it could cause, then and only then is it acceptable to use a partially broken machine.

For printers, if the damage is around the heating unit, I would not run it without constant supervision until the replacement part is installed.

How do you plan to run multi-nozzle prints if it can’t calibrate the offset? As I mentioned earlier in the thread, it might work… until it doesn’t, and at that point you could be facing far worse problems than just a failed print.

It’s like this — would you fly one of my aircraft if part of it was “repaired” with duct tape? Totally safe in my case, because I know exactly what was fixed and why. But I sure wouldn’t hop into someone else’s duct-taped plane without first finding out why it’s duct-taped… and if it’s holding something important together.

Order the spare part and replace it — it’s far cheaper than dealing with the problems you’re likely to face sooner rather than later.

The problem source is the same

I got two diamond nozzles for my h2d and they keep failing the Nozzle Offset Calibration. If I switch back to metal nozzles everything works just fine. The Nozzle Offset Calibration sensor is the issue! It only seems to work with metal nozzles.

How does the tip of the nozzle looks like in relation to the steel nozzles?
An image could help.

I suspect that the different shape of the tip is the reason for the failure.
The sensor is purely based on physical touch.

The new H2C sensor additionally seems to use a thermal method on top of that.
