I had some beat up hotends I decided to clean up and generally service. The hotends had seen some tough times and just decided to clean then up as they were looking kind of rough.
Some of the wires on the heater and fan had some damage but no big deal.
When I cleaned everything back up and went to reintall the heater and thermistor, all and I do mean ALL of the 6 - 7 packets of thermal grease looked like they contained grease but in fact contained nothing but air.
Any recommendations for thermal grease/paste for use on a hot end. I’ve used these pastes but on CPU’s which are much lower temperature. Like most things on Amazon there are a thousand different brands. I’m leaning towards Slice Engineering but they have two different varieties. A boron nitride in a white syringe and a chemically unidentified (or I can’t find it) “thin” paste.
Any thoughts on this.
Somewhat disappointed in all those BL packs that I had bought setting up a maintenance toolkit to find them full of air when I needed to use them
