Just about finished the controller for the crane ![]()
It’s about the size of a Nintendo switch, although a little thicker.
Make sure the cat doesn’t get hold of it, or there could be broken glass everywhere.
I’ve documented a number of projects in this thread already! Haha.
Here’s a few shots of the crane as it’s going. I’ve posted this up elsewhere too, so some of you might have seen some of these already. I did a spread out of all the parts too, as I was printing up a second crane to double check everything. It’s almost all the parts, haha. Had to pick it up as defending it from the cat was getting to be a bit of a chore.
I’m chugging my way through creating the assembly manual. Part of the second print was so I could snap some additional shots for the assembly manual, and also make sure I’m directing the assembly manual right! I also noticed a few things I wanted to tweak while creating the assembly drawings, so had to double check those tweaks all look good too. This thing turned out awesome
I can’t wait to get the second one fully assembled and see how it looks.
I think I created the coolest cyberbrick remote controller so far ![]()
It’s been a couple of minutes since I posted here!
I don’t usually take part in the contest, but I did with the Insta360 Luna Ultra contest. I love me some camera gear, nerding out over that stuff, haha.
I really enjoy designing and making things ![]()
I’m trying to work hard, haha. It’s a little tough sometimes when you’re not the sort of person that can tap into trends and viral sensations. I like to brute force it a little by trying to make the best models I can, with what I do make.
It’s kind of crazy how AI has been changing things. It makes me feel a little weird in a way. I’m just keeping on doing my own thing like I typically do. I’ve noticed how often people use AI to write their descriptions now though, along with using it for stuff like making cover images that’d make a marketing executive have wet dreams. I hope my descriptions and photos are okay. I’m not a pro level photographer, but I do rather enjoy my process and everything.
On Instagram, since I’ve been posting videos of my Luna projects, it’s been feeding me tons of film related content. Man, it’s tough some days to feel confident when you get out there in the deep end of social media. I’ve had a few nasty comments on youtube, pretty much calling my videos excrement. I can brush off the youtube comments pretty easily, but seeing stuff on Instagram, it makes me realize sometimes how much more I still need to learn to get better.
Social media is kind of hard when you’re an introvert.
I haven’t been yapping as much, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been creating.
Been working on a pretty big project. Bambu invited me to check out the H3C though, which threw all kinds of wrenches into my projects, because hawt damn.
These are shells for a 12" electric snare. I did this trippy landscape because I wanted to do something with all sorts of colors and stuff, haha. The pool themed one is what I actually really like, but I think people will probably enjoy the trippy landscape more.
The really neat thing about these is the PETG core with the PLA outer sleeve. As we know, PLA does not stick to PETG, so, it provided some additional challenges beyond just figuring out multi-color. The geo is done in such a way that it locks the PLA in mechanically with the PETG. Works well.
I’m putting together a video and some additional info on my process. I’m so behind though! It’s been an overwhelming week.
