The first major printer that I got was the P1S. It has served me well, though with some recent problems I am weighing my options. I ask this if their are others on this site who started with an entry level printer and gone on to more advanced ones. If it helps, I want to move beyond just printing for cosplay, and want to make some practical/engineering parts with carbon fiber. Though I was able to do that on the P1S, it has been rather inconsistent. I am wanting to ask around to see the views or others. I appreciate your imput.

You already had big trouble getting your old one to kind of work, not really fixed - especially when I look at your topic history and we’re talking about just PLA printing. That’s already pushed you to your limits.

I think you should consider this from a different perspective: what do you need it for, and how often do you intend to use it? People have different needs, different uses and definitely different expectations. Furthermore, consider it from your budget perspective. Can you afford it (is it worth buying an expensive one instead of a middle or low range one, price wise vs intended use)?
Decide that, then ask again while providing that info. It will help others to offer you better solutions.
Nevertheless, do remind yourself that while people here will definitely share their views and recommendations, everyone is different and everyone’s use, experience/know-how and needs differ significantly.

I would add also some B DSM: RR V-Core 4.1
I would consider a 0.6 mm hardened nozzle for CF-filled nylon. It can reduce clogging compared with 0.4 mm nozzles.

Speaking of formlabs, funny enough, I was at “one place” the other day where every electronic company need to be and saw formlabs where rolling in a new machine there. Should release soon, it looked cool lol.
