This stuff is great for cleaning the Cool plate

I got my AMS on the top! I heard people stuck a noctua fan in, so maybe I’ll look into that (or is that a different fan?) For now I’m still learning all the quirks / software and making sure I understand the impact setting changes make. I’m used to just throwing stuff at my Creator Pro 2 and it works. Getting there slowly with this beast though. I liken it to a Formula 1 car. It has a narrow operating window but once you get the right settings for your design, it’s amazing

for that you would need a DC to DC converter (cheap on aliexpress or even Amazon) because the noctua fans are 12v and the printers fan is 24v

but there are spacers on printables for the glass top, then you can have a opening vent and the AMS on top

Also, I’m not having a go at you , My problem here is, by stating that its a rust inhibitor and stating I should check my science isnt correct. That spray (which could indeed by introducing other factors) Who knows whats in it. isnt reccomended for metals. So i offered my 2 cents based on research and practical experience, nothing more nothing less. Forgive me if i did attack at all, my aim was to present you with research that backs my experience with bicarb and corrosion and rust.

Community forums are best when 50/50 thats the best part we put the info out there and hopefully people are smart enough to make an informed balanced decision based on the facts presented. Again its your build plate, I’m not saying don’t, im definitely not the plate police    . Hell im in the same boat as you with this printer, combined 3d printing experience of days and hours hahaha. But as one with a background in chemical engineering and metallurgic science, I felt the need to share my experience.
Cheers

It’s all good buddy, if anything it made us both research more so that can’t be a bad thing :+1:

Also I assumed you had no 3d experience like me hahahah, sorry if wrong mate,
I was keen to find out about that top lid spacer and fan as well. I just open the door and put a portable 18650 powered fan in the door to blow the heat out if required, but I’m in Australia and the hottest its gotten in there (chamber) is 45 for me so far. Printing pla, nylon cf, and petg so far, But my machines also not that loud? Maybe I’m deaf ?, I moved it back into the loungeroom at the moment to watch in awe as it buzzes around. Have you printed the ams removal tool and the unclogger tool yet? Its so damn fast this thing its hard to find enough nifty stuff to print.

Was literally gonna post a pointless topic of “what does a person do when their 3D printer is busy”. I’ve currently got my CP2 and X1C both on the job so I think it’s time for lunch (I’m in the UK). I’ve only used PLA so far, and using the cool plate the chamber fan doesn’t come on at all so that’s good.

When I first setup the printer I did so on my kitchen table and I honestly thought the legs were gonna fall off when I did my first print. Bet the anti-vibration algorithm was like ‘this guy think I’m Jesus or something’

I’ve got it on the floor now on two wooden slats, it’s a lot happier and not wobbling around like a whacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube man

First thing I printed was that mini scraper thing, couldn’t believe how quick it did it (and how great quality was!) I haven’t printed the removal tool, I think next thing I might do when printer is free is one of them spool holders.

I did the same thing with the printer on a glass coffee table. lol It quickly went on the floor then a solid oak table, then back on the floor hahaha. But it printed an almost flawless bency boat straight out of the box and on that wobbly ass table.
I too was interested in that spool, but 4 hours seems steep fpr the one saved on the machine. and the on board ams only lets you use position one, in the ams which is where my pla is. I want to use spot 4 with the cheap petg. Theres probably a workaorund to that, but if i open my ams all the filament is exposed to 98% current humidity. Its 12.30 midnight here, and 27degrees c. So the ams stays sealed sadly.

My print list so far is.
-The obligatory benchy boat.
-scraper in multi materials,
-Removable trolley token tool, in pla, nylon cf, and petg. its a uk trolley token actually takes about 6 mins to print. (same size as our dollar coin)
-Various calibration bits and objects
-3d printed tools for if the bambu breaks down, and maintenance, hopefully it doesnt for a long time)
-print in place boxes, containers and flexible animal prints like lizards snakes etc. Its been getting a workout since out of box.
I also attempted a thin wall rectangular vase out of petg but it failed so i turned it into a poop chute for the machine. Vase mode seems too slow for my liking.
and some containers to put spares in.

Next on my list is:
-Try making a carbon fibre nylon lock pick set.
-Make that spool rewinder contraption,
-make the pet filament extruder machine and try diying some filament.
work on a pellet to filament extruder. (as I have access to many kgs of diferent plastic pellets)

But as to what to do in the downtime, im thinking of just buying another one of these badboys and watching two machines compete hahaha.

How to you enable vase mode?

Call me sad but I’ve got so used to having one that having a printer on in the background makes me happy  The first printer I ever bought was a Flashforge Adventurer 3, I loved using that, it had some really good features for the price (wifi, cloud prints, filament sensor, enclosed spool, camera) but I switched to a Dreamer because I needed to do two colour prints. The Dreamer lacked a lot of the quality of life features of the Adventurer, and having both nozzles on the same extruder was a nightmare for oozing, it also used to clog ALL THE TIME. So I got a Creator Pro 2, which lacked even more quality of life features, but it’s built like a tank and ultra reliable, plus it’s an IDEX so you have way more control over the nozzles.

Ideally I’d like to buy a few of those empty spools from Bambu but they’re always out of stock! Their filaments are a little more expensive than some brands but I genuinely think they have some lovely natural colours. Do you know if their refills are supplied with an NFC sticker?

Yeah they come with a sticker and rfid.
Vase mode is under the advanced tab and in the others section. Ive also experimented with fuzzy wall option and changed the patterns from line to stars and stuff as well.
