You can focus on a specific designer by going to their profile and clicking the community tab. I think it currently requires too many steps to get there, but it’s possible to just view one designer’s feed.
Not only too many clicks, it fails the obviousness test.
If you click the name from the feed it should go directly to the community tab.
All in all I like it, it’s something that’s already done on printables for quite a while
I do wonder if this will make the forum less active though, I only recently joined but definitely enjoy the discussions we have here ![]()
I just hope there is some kind of moderation involved this time. Lots of external links already everywhere. Other than that, i hope it really works.
I really like the idea because i am not a “social network” kind of person and having people communicating on this platform, on the community tab or through comments, makes me happy. I enjoy answering people about their comments and experiences with models, prints, etc.
@h3li0 i sure hope not. Forum is centered in conversations, so it should not matter.
hahah i’m already seeing someone not happy:
edit/ but wait, this is ironic:
hahaha
everyone stop advertising but me! ![]()
That one is funny. Made me laugh already ![]()
On point and as a suggestion only. We really need an edit option @MakerWorld . Make it so that we can edit it in the next /1015 minutes or so and then no more edits so the post can be consistent. At least we would have time to correct our grammar or, like me, those pesky missing keystrokes because my keyboard has some switches going to heaven ![]()
Already blocked them to learn how well the blocking feature works.
I have to admit though, asteroid container does seem neat. I’m conflicted on how to feel about this guy now ![]()
Print the asteroid container, post it and ask him please not to spam ![]()
hahah i think there will be heavy usage of that feature on the beginning until the feed looks like what one would like to see, it will definitely take some individual curating efforts
Unless I’m missing something, isn’t the new community thing going to be full of product launches and look what I made a few months ago, check it out?
Do people think this will be Twitter or instagram?
Should I post some racist stuff or a photo of my food?
Do people really care I fell down the stairs or the great model I thought up whilst trying to gain enough energy to drag myself down the last couple of steps?

Well, make some 3d printable food stuffs and start posting 'em, hahaha ![]()
Beans-and-Bangers.stl
…
Does this count?
So it looks like when I post, every Makerworld user can see that and posts from everyone are shown in the “For you” tab, while only posts from people you’re following are shown in the “Following” tab.
I would like the ability to post so that it’s only shown to my followers.
Most of it, probably. I’m sure it will be used for awesomeness as well. Back in June, I used the Printables version to give away two tickets to a Snoop Dogg concert to one of my followers.
Agree
Well, from what i see until now, i don’t see that much of “interaction” in the community posts. Would like to see more comments and people showing their interest in what creators post. Let’s see where this is headed
If the Community tab has been discussed for a while, I missed it.
How is it going to be moderated? Is this meant to be the Instagram for 3D printing models? It can be a good thing. But it can also be just a smaller version of instagram for anything, 3D arts, renders, AI generated images, or photos of foods, pets, if not moderated well ![]()
I think the feature is a great idea and excited to see it develop. I noticed currently theres no ‘algorithm’ behind the feed, you just see whatever was posted last. I hope it doesnt devolve into a bot spam fest, but i assume it will get developed and improved over time.
