Timelapse is only a dramatic zoom out

Hey everyone,

I’m experiencing an odd issue with the timelapse feature on my A1 Mini. It worked fine initially, but now the videos are only a few seconds long and just show a zoom-out effect from a very zoomed-in start: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

The only modification I made was moving the camera outside the enclosure using this mount: Camera Mount.

I’ve tried both traditional and smooth mode settings, but the result is the same.

VLC reports that the generated AVI file has a missing or broken index, although it still plays. Converting the file to MPEG using FFMPEG didn’t resolve the issue.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Same issue since I took out the printer from the box.

I placed a stopwatch in the camera view to troubleshoot the timelapse issue. For a 20-minute print, the timer on the 3-second ‘timelapse video’ starts at around 7 minutes and ends at 19 minutes. However, the picture crop issue persists: Timelapse vid.

Interestingly, the video files in the IPCAM folder contain the entire 20-minute print from start to finish without cropping at approximately a 1:3.33 rate, possibly due to the camera’s low frame rate.
This recording seems to be a direct feed from the camera, ignoring the toolhead position. While technically, that video could be used to create a timelapse, I would prefer to fix the actual timelapse feature.

It looks like it’s angled up almost. You would have to reach out to bambu support, I don’tkbow what would cause it to do this.

Hey, I guess you solved this issue or got the answers you wanted from Bambu.

However, I’m guessing the issue is to do with the cropping that Bambu are doing on the output video. It looks to me as if they are trying to be a bit clever and are actually cropping to the area of the camera image that the printed object is in. This is why it gradually zooms out… as the printed object gets higher it is zooming out to be able to get all of it in frame. I’ve seen this in my own timelapse videos.

The issue you have is that you have changed the angle of the camera from the default. Bambu is cropping to where it thinks the printed object should be but it ain’t there.

Your explanation makes a lot of sense, I bet your right. I do notice that, it’s very clever and i like it, just don’t move the camera.
