I’m hoping this is a known but solved problem or I’m just doing something wrong, but when I sync my P1S with my AMS in Studio under Prepare, it will report 8 or more filaments and some are filaments I’ve never used or owned. Then, when I fix that by deleting most and editing the ones left, and go to Device, one or more of the filament boxes there are white with a “?”, when they were correct before the sync.
Is this a known bug or am I doing the sync wrong?
I have had the same issue 2-3 times and in some respects I think it is a bug introduced in the 01.08.01 printer firmware update.
I can get it corrected and then all is fine going forward.
It seems to happen if I do a multiple filament swap because I need to use multiple colors or different materials for whatever reason. Just a single spool getting changed is not a problem but if I change two or more spools and they are spread across my 4 AMS devices (2 old AMS, 1 AMS 2 Pro, 1 AMS HT) I can anticipate some annoyance getting the number of slots right along with those slots colors being correct.
The first synch exposes the problem when I’ll end up with 16 filament slots (for example) with colors in the wrong locations.
I’m having issues as well where I can’t sync my AMS units and when I got to the AMS’s in the device tab all the filament slots have a question mark. I have to hit each circle arrow to refresh each slot one by one which takes forever. Then when I go back to the prepare tab I can sync the filaments. I can resync 20 times in the prepare tab and nothing will happen until I do them one by one in the device tab. All started after the last update.
A minor note on an issue that should not be happening but I believe if you click on A1 it will step through the rest on its own.
I’m having the same problem. In my case it appears to happen when I download a 3MF file but not an STL? I just resync and “my” AMS setup seems to come back most of the time.
Interesting. I haven’t considered if the file type is the problem. I use both, so it’s worth an experiment.
I’ve never really understood the filament mapping. What I always want is to show my loaded filaments in the order they are loaded so when I synchronize, I select “Overwriting” at the top instead of “Mapping” and everything is fine for me.
