He is back for more pain!
When those guys get spanked appropriately there is joy in Mudville!
The community tab isn’t all bad. I see @Zammer3D just posted an update to fingerboard park, and someone, me, just got a fingerboard! It didn’t even occur to me to go check out Makerworld for accessories, hehe.
I do say this in complete seriousness though. The community tab has some issues, but there’s some worth while stuff going on with it too. I’ve had a few times on the community tab where I’ve seen things that made me go “Oh” and I click through.
I saw the “Community Post” switch when I was editing it and figured I’d flick it and see what happens! Happy to give you printing ideas
After taking a few minutes to block the spammers, it is actually pretty cool!
Indeed! There’s some gold nuggets swimming in the overall spam
Couple reports (that got acted upon! yay!) couple surgically applied blocks and quality of “for you” tab improves tremendously! If there was also twitter-like way to block certain words i know couple I’d block immediately (any post with “boost” “like” “download” “follow”)… Now that I think of it, imagine if the “algo” of “for you” tab actively de-ranked posts with those words. Another improvement of “for you” tab
And get paid in boosts?
…
And then get those points from boosts reviewed for a week until they deny the redemption
*modelrator
Get paid in whatever, preferably a proper currency and under actual contract. That’s better than being paid in power of being a mod, like certain social media operate… Paying mods in just “power” attracts people who ought to never have any power.
I was of course joking and I 100% agree with you
I am not here to blaim anyone, therefore I censored it, but honestly, watch this feed a few hours ago and now all linked models are not available anymore.
Well yes, the community tab was a bad idea which is why I ignore it - not hard to do.
It wasn’t hard to do. Now if you use Bambu Handy and update to 2.16.0 you’ll run into this:
I have blocked 28 users who were constantly begging or posting over and over low quality stuff. Now it is quite usable.
Still way to many: “What do you think I should do next?” or “Do you need this?” etc… But at least no more boost4boost etc.
I think the community tab could be nice, especially for discussing not model related stuff. But it also splits discssions over more places.
I receive requests for improvements from the model comments, but now it could happen (once properly used) in the community tab too, hidden to all the people visiting the model.
In my opinion the forum should be dedicated to hardware/bambulab/software topics, not models in particular.
Welp I guess I’m late to the party haha. I literally just noticed the community tab on the webpage and was amazed that we now have a facebook of our own lol. I did make a post but I’m not sure if I’ll be so much active vs non active. I will say it’s a great place to showcase or tease some new models and take polls on what people/followers want to see and print.
Yup, I was on this morning around 3am and I guess the Makerworld mods were too because I was getting the “report successful” messages within 30 minutes. It was beautiful. It was super nice of them to basically admit to trading boosts in public like that. The one kid had even uploaded a random model just so he could get boosts and the description said, “this isn’t mine”? lol…
This I don’t understand. WHY? What’s the point of doing that? People need input from others on what to create? I literally got a list of ideas and I take something from it if I feel like it (or find the right tutorial to deal with some issue), do the thing and post it…
Oh, so it was you who made “For You” tab of community a bit better today? Thank you!
You’re welcome! I’m trying really hard. They seem to like my reports, I try to be super through with screen shots, sometimes with red arrows pointing to what they should look at lol. Just from everything I’ve seen I think the word has gotten out to very young kids that Bambu is handing out free printers to anyone who signs up for Makerworld.
