Too much strings on the top side, how to solve this?

Hi everyone,

I’m new to the world of 3D printing and currently using the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon. I’m trying to achieve a smoother surface finish on my prints. I’ve attached a picture for reference.

Could anyone advise me on how to improve the finish? Also, I’m noticing quite a bit of stringing on larger prints. What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance for your help, really appreciate any tips or suggestions!

Looks like it might be an adhesion issue. Have you cleaned your build plates lately?

No, there’s no adhesion problem. The bottom is fine, it was printed upright. The printer is brand new.

What orientation was that printed in?

See picture, this is how i printed the part

The part looks thin on the vertical part based on the print orientation. It could be the cooling fan inducing movement when it gets towards the top. What if you print with the large flat part on the build plate? The hole and slot may not be as crisp and supports may be needed.

You could also experiment with reducing the cooling fan speeds but that may induce other issues.
