I have spent far too long on this. But trying to print a model using first PLA basic as supports. And then Supports for PLA/PETG. Every time the the supported overhang lifts from the support interface messing up print.
Most important setting is the top and bottom z distance which is set to zero.
I can add more supports around sides of overhang but would rather not. And my one attempt with additional supports still didn’t work - but may play around with xy distance a bit more.
Want to get this right - for me it’s the perfect use of the X2D. The models I’ve done successfully come off so nicely very hard to go back to same material supports! It’s a difficulty one since the whole point is the materials don’t bond very well!

This is the model - it’s the long overhang that lifts slightly a few layers above the interface layer.
I’m facing the same issue. Especially small overhangs or parts that aren’t connected to the main model yet won’t stick to the PLA support layer and then get ripped off and messing up the print. It might be related to a cooling/fan configuration as discussed in this thread: aux fan control
Thanks - have to admit though I thought my days of messing around with gcode were over! I’ll probably wait for Bambu to fix it - this is mainly what they’re selling this printer for so they need to get it working reliably.
You might want to switch to Support for PLA for a touch bit better adhesion. The best / most reliable adhesion I had was with old version of Support for PLA, unfortunately with the new version it’s also significantly weaker. However it’s still better than other options.
You can also try to increase the temperature of the support material a bit

I mainly print PETG for these functional parts but have tried the Support for PLA/PETG as I said - it’s marginally better than using PLA but still hasn’t sorted this issue (and it’s yet another filament that’s frequently out of stock so don’t want to have to rely on it!). Have messed around with temperatures but will try some more.
Same to me, failed big time with PLA/PETG for support material on aux. For some models it worked others it messed big times. Now experimenting with Bambu’s support for PLA/PETG but do not hold my breath honestly. But so far no time to try something more complex.
For now it looks like x2d was good idea but not able to reach the quality of A1 sometimes for PLA on main extruder, and support from aux extruder is hit or miss. Or mostly miss.
Yes I’ve messed around a lot with this. Simple models it works great and I can design small prints without having to be overly concerned about overhangs, but uncomfortable leaving long overnight prints when using secondary material supports. I’m not sure Bambu know exactly how to fix this since they have conflicting info on their website.
One thing to watch for is bed temperature - Bambu suggest lower temps when using PLA, but don’t do that with bigger prints - PETG even more likely to release from the bed which causes a lot of these issues.
Still playing with this so will update the thread when / if I get to the bottom of it. It’s not just the X2D - the H2D has the same issues and I have seen at least one video where someone with an H2D gave up using other material supports on more complex prints.
