Toolhead out of control...slamming into sides

I just updated software/firmware. After printing, the toolhead does it’s thing where it goes to the front, left, right–but now it’s trying to go to far the the motors are grinding. It slams into the front and knocks off the toolhead cover. After my second print, it hit something and bent my hotend, knocked off the sock, and wouldn’t retract the filament. The second print was done using quiet mode (half speed). I installed a new hotend, ran calibration and diagnostics. I opened a support ticket, but China is on holiday for a week.

The only thing that could’ve bent the hotend would be the build plate, or a leftover purge tower. The only thing low enough other than those is the poop chute. If it bent the nozzle you should see some damage there.

As to why it did it in the first place, I don’t know.

The toolhead cover coming off has been a recurring theme in the forum. There are a number of threads such as this

But you’ll find more with the search function.

As for what can cause a bent nozzle, I have had that happen due to curling.

In your case though, I’d first check the toolhead cover for nozzle damage…
