I have tried all of the tricks I can think of to get this to print a smooth top layer. I do not want to use ironing. Filament is Polymer HT PLA, the layer height does not matter and have tried various setting to no avail
What “tricks” have you tried?
- Calibration for pressure advance
- Calibration for flow ratio
- Speed for top layer
I don’t think ironing will get you there.
How’s the flatness on the bottom? Warped and curling up the edges, or was it well adhered?
Since the waves are only at the edges (where accel and decel happen) I’d also suggest pressure advance calibration.
If all else fails, reduce “top surface flow ratio” by 1 or 2 percent, but it might leave a less even top.
I’ve never found ironing to look good on silk filaments so agree, don’t try that road
