TPU nozzle

hello,

i think someone at bambu need to rewrite some of the info on the wiki, because they forgot to mention the TPU for AMS.

and because of that you got people like me overthinking if its going to be an issue or not.

on the wiki

they mention TPU need to be printed using RIGHT nozzle

and they talk about TPU material so all TPU, for me that also include TPU for AMS

so why does studio tell me i can print it with the left nozzle ?

also i don’t see anywhere that TPU for ams need to use the bypass port, but anyway its starting to be even more confusing since now bambu themselve say you should not use the bypass port for TPU 85A and TPU 90A, and you need to set up on the printer with the glass removed.

so why is there a TPU bypass port then ? why did i buy the AMS HT if i can’t use it with any TPU ? because this thing already got 2 port on it too, with a special one for TPU.

did i just buy a glorify drying machine for TPU that i cannot use for print with TPU ?

TPU for AMS says right in the name “for AMS” meaning you use it in AMS without using the bypass hole or any other restriction like right or left hot end. Its 68D almost as hard as PETG and PLA.

I understand this can be confusing at first but when “TPU” is mentioned it will mean 95A majority of the time. TPU for AMS and 90/85A will be referred by their full name as they are a specialty TPUs.

Bypass port on the AMS HT is for 95A and PPA/PPS, but its pretty much a glorified external spool holder at that point. Its mainly useful if you live in a humid environment and have a super long TPU/PPA/PPS print, so you can dry and print at the same time.

TPU FOR AMS is relatively stiff for a TPU, and it handles the buffer inside your printer without any issues. It’s also not brittle, so it’s unlikely to break due to the PTFE paths of either the left or right tool head.

However, for TPU 95A or softer, it’s recommended to use the right nozzle, as the left tool head moves during printing, which could cause problems.

Indeed its not only recommended its restricted in the slicer and printer firmware. It wont let you print TPU from left nozzle.
