The site is out of beta but some basic simple things are still not available.
I can’t read Chinese, barely can understand the text of Spanish, Italian, some German. NO russian, etc.
Why do models still show up in anything but English on makerworld/en.com? Makes no sense. Did you ever download a model and find the name is in hieroglyphics? How do I figure out what it is without opening it?
So, @makerworld will you please fix this?
Makerworld is limited in the effectiveness of automatically translating user posted text. You cannot expect perfect translations and sometimes stuff simply will not work. As for models, Makerworld cannot translate those.
This is not a Makerworld problem, simply the nature of a site with a global userbase.
You need to have a bit of perspective.
Thanks. I do have perspective. I have been using the net since it became a thing. And sites with ENGLISH are common. If you don’t use ENGLISH, you get to translate it.

So, translation should be part of the site. Period.
And yes of course they can translate the models. Nonsense that they can’t.
This particular model happens to have English text in the description, but this is the model name. And YES translation works. But I still can’t tell what it is in my files unless I translate it myself. I shouldn’t have to since the software can be made to do it.
… but then you are changing the file name. When you change a name, the server wouldn’t be able to find what it is looking for.
I agree with descriptions, titles, comments, etc.
File storage is an animal that you do not want to mess with. To get what you want, you would need a translated copy of that file in every version.
Also, I do not think a majority of people look at stl files anymore. They just import directly to studio and let it be.

The site may be English, but people from all around the world upload content. Also the site pulls into content from it’s Chinese version too.
Translation is part of the site—for the elements that aren’t user uploaded. You need to get over yourself.
It doesn’t help to keep reopening the topic again and again: Either it’s about “not being able to ignore enough creators”, or it’s about translation.

Try to contribute to constructive discussions, rather than just complaining - and yes, I deliberately use the word complaining and not constructive suggestion. That may have been the case the first time, but not if you keep opening new topics.

In any case I think there are browser addons to translate packs of web pages instantly. I would follow that path but i’m too lazy to dig for something that isn’t translated in english

It’s not constructive, it’s just complaining that users on this international site are uploading content in anything other than English. TBH it sounds xenophobic…
I don’t see it as a problem since I always rename the file when downloading, even the ones in English tend to get very cryptic.
