Hello!
This is my first object I’ve ever modeled myself and while trying to print it - the printer is doing a travel after each layer, rather than starting the next layer where the last one ended.
I’ve been messing around with the settings and haven’t been able to figure out how to adjust this so that it doesn’t do that. I tried classic and arachne wall generators and the behavior is the same.
Any help is appreciated! thanks!
So the big issue is that I am printing with TPU - and that extra travel and retraction is … causing issues.
Still haven’t found a solution though.
It starts each layer in the same spot but then ends in a different spot - the same spots on every layer - rather than starting and stopping in the same place. It’s as though it has two seams - one on the outside and one on the inside.
I wasn’t able to find any way to optimize this travel, but I did tune my TPU filament profile for this 90A filament and the stringing is gone. So there is that.
I’m in the same boat, trying to reduce the stringing now I guess.
This is an old thread, but I’ve found putting “Avoid crossing walls” at 9999mm/infinite to greatly minimize mid-air travels with TPU. Prints take longer.
Technically, You can also try setting seam to “nearest” but I didnt have much luck. Its supposed to put seams near the start of the next layer but I’m guessing it doesn’t work well on non simple models.
