Wow, that was a total pulled from my rear guess too.
Great minds think alikeďź
So far from what I was thinking . Thank you
Lets make a knitting machine to knit socks
Canât quite see what kind of model should i make because in my mind i envision me and Santa drinking a cold one and smoking some of that medicinal stuff while making fun of the elfs that are working nonstop
Here come the Polar Express models.
Or⌠models with âThe Rockâ head in them⌠can already imagine.
The Rock Train
The Rock Snowman
The Rock Elf
âŚand so on
More then half of the planet does not celebrate Christmas! - it seems to be a good contest in the spirit of the politically correct âHappy Winter Holidaysâ wishes - OK, sorry, another half of the planet does not have winterâŚ
Most people who have 3d printers and are on MakerWorld probably do though. Or at least more than half most likely celebrate it.
Thereâs always somebody who doesnât celebrate something, so what? One could either adopt âletâs not do anything because political correctnessâ or go âItâs after 8 somewhere Iâm eating the chocolates!â
Also - contests arenât mandatory. Donât celebrate? Not in a mood? Just donât join. And donât sour the mood for those who do
I donât celebrate the 4th of July either⌠Should all contests about that holiday
not even be considered for contests?
Surely even the people who donât celebrate Christmas can find joy in the thoughts of all the smiles on childrenâs faces around the world when they open their gifts on Christmas morning and instead of the IPhone they asked for they are staring directly in to the eyes of a snowman with The Rockâs head. Even though their mom or dad printed it, theyâll know in their hearts it was created by one of the talented men and women on Makerworld. For me, itâs the thought of those smiles and also the 30 gallon drum of eggnog I plan to use my points on.
I was just trying to give an explanation for this theme that sounds a bit ⌠different I would personally not joint a contest for Hanukkah or Eid al-Fitr ( I googled to find these names).
A multinational company has to think to all its customers and the theme for this contest shows that everyone is included - if willing to join of course.

So basically weâll see the same stuff from the travel essentials contest, but with snowflake embossments
Indeed
My understanding was a little off, I thought it was anything Arctic-themed. Turns out the focus is on travel
While I was pretty good at guessing the theme to this contest Iâm seeing people are so amped up that theyâre just throwing anything in it to see what sticks. Also ignoring/overlooking that this is not the Xmas contest that they should be saving their models for.
Bonus is it spawned another new AI artist.
Went snooping around in the contest area and⌠my oh my⌠lots of new ai artists, people who never uploaded a print picture and lots of thing that do not belong there. Itâs a wreck fest alrightâŚ
Gave me a few laughs already.
But i have a question since i have only participated once or twice in a contest. Does makerworld sees and controls whatâs in there or they only rely on the users to report what should and should not be there?
@MakerWorld itâs still on the upcoming list too, by the way.
Logged in today feeling ready to design and checked the contests for ideas. The âTrip to the North Poleâ contest looked interestingâespecially with the rule to avoid ornaments and indoor decor, which adds to the challenge. But when I scrolled through the entries, I saw mostly ornaments and decor pieces, which was really frustrating. Itâs disappointing when rules are ignored like this. Models that donât follow guidelines should be reported, and repeated rule-breakers shouldnât be able to participate.
And Iâve thought âgood luck with that!â People were ready to pop-off with Christmas models and needed an excuse, most likely jumped the gun the moment contest was opened. Itâs a week till actual indoor decor contest.
Whatâs funny to me is the amount of penguins there. There are no penguins on the north pole
