Two A1 Printers, same issue, default settings

I have two different printers displaying same poor print results. Is it slicer settings or are the printers just happen to be out of Wack resulting in similar issues.

  • Printer #1: A1 w/ Bambu PETG White HF
    • 0.2mm Strength @BBL A1
    • Support Tree Auto w/ default settings
  • Printer #2: A1 w/ Atomic PETG White
    • 0.2mm Strength @BBL A1
    • Support Normal Auto w/ default settings
  • Other Notes
    • Printers are in different rooms at room temperatures
    • Printer #1 is in a tent, the other is note, so it stays toasty
    • Humidity is very low in the tent, like 20% (Winter here and very dry)
    • If I print a cube, it is perfect
    • If I print a 300mm cone and 300 cube at the same time
      • They are near perfect with an aligned seem on the cone, which is not ideal
    • I will attempt to come up with a test print to display these results that will print in short amount of time
    • Before I start trying to determine cause (which can take a lot of time) I ask this community for suggestions in the hope that someone/s knows the likely causes

Observations

  • Anything printed above support seems to print poorly
  • When a floor is in a model it is telegraphed to the exterior wall it attached to
  • When a hole or slot is in a wall it is shadowed, on the same layers
    • Sometimes for a short distance, sometimes to the wall end/ corner

Can’t help with it all, but couple things

these bulging areas show an incorrect pressure advance / flow dynamics / k factor. Run that calibration, and know that it might/should be different per filament. Save the result in filament settings. The faster you go the more important this setting is

  1. Default bambu “strength” settings cranks walls to 6, which means on your model, its probably 100% walls and no infill areas. With no infill areas, flow must be correct as there’s no way to run. I’d run a flow RATE test as well.

  2. Overhung support areas can get a little better with “Top Interface Spacing” = 0 and “Top Z distance” = lower, but PETG loves to bond strongly and going too small will cause it to fuse to the model and be impossible to remove

The underside circles in specific, and the whole model in general look like its going too fast, as well, but that could be the pressure advance

I ran flow dynamics and save it for that printer/ filament. But flow dynamics is always enabled. So perhaps it is a moot point.

I ran the calibration and saved the results for the Atomic filament. I reprinted one of the parts. Much cleaner result. I’ll repeat this on the other printer and print the second model. Note sure about the areas needing support yet. Seemed better but still kind of rough.
