Unable to close reusable spool with Bambu filament refill

Just had a Refill do the same, using this kind of solution really saved me.

I did the same, lined up the side with the notch, held on to the loose end, removed all the tape, lined up the top, managed to get it about half one together then just with force pushing and twisting got it to lock. Only Orange has had this issue.

I’ve gotten 3 in the last month with this problem. 1 I managed to get together with force. the other 2 are impossible. I needed to finish a print that ran out of the white filament so I used the spool repair tool to get the spool holder to not fall apart, then hung it by a curtain rod suspended across the arms of a chair.

Think I might have made a newbie mistake - I had assumed the reusable spools were something you could switch between different filaments - for example buy two filaments, put one on a reusable spool, do some printing, then put it back in the box (off the spool) and use the spool for another. I am struggling to get a filament back onto the reusable spool…

Welcome to the forum!

Yeah, once you remove those straps it’s supposed to stay on the spool. I think your best bet at this point might be making a respooler, even then it’s going to be hard to keep it from tangling while it’s spooling it.

Thanks - lesson learned - time to print some more reusable spools. This 3d printing is more addictive and expensive than my Hue lights addiction!

No problem. At some point you can merge the two hobbies and add Hue lights to the printers, around the printers, print things to put them on… etc etc.
