Unable to print anything larger than 100x100 from center

Do you have a Timelapse from the print by any chance?

If so, please share it.

I have it but the forum doesnt seem to take avi clips

but it can be found here
https://myth.org/bambu/video_2024-06-05_16-01-23.avi

It wonā€™t play on my iPad. I will look on my Mac in a bit to see it it plays AVI files.

I tend to upload things like this to YouTube a set it to private so I can choose where the links go. That way everything can view it.

You donā€™t need a special account, just use your normal one if you wish.

throughly clean the plate with hot soapy water ( no alc ) then add a layer of glue
bambu lab have 2 types in the store / pritt stick .

I am new to sharing video  here is the link of it on youtube

Yes that plate was cleaned with HOT soapy (dawn) water and no ISA as recommended.

reading manuals and my experience with Prusa and Ender3 glue not usually needed with PLA but I will try anything at this point  thanks for the suggestion

You donā€™t need glue for PLA. I have never used glue for any prints on any 3D printer and only had adhesion issues I caused.

matte or basic ?,although i find it helps with both , and recommended for matte, yw

its pla basic and I am trying a print with glue nowā€¦ crossed fingers

You have ruled out everything I can think of.

Your video shows a clear problem, but, all common causes have been tested and ticked off the list.

You have performed a most exhaustive list of tests.

If you havenā€™t already, you need to get BL service involved and provide them a link to this thread so they can see everything you have done to resolve this yourself.

It is hard to imagine this is a printer fault when it is far more likely it is a simple adhesion problem, but, you have gone above and beyond trying to find out what that adhesion issue could be for it to still be considered an adhesion issue.

  • Multiple build-plates
  • Multiple cleans using two different recommend methods
  • Multiple filaments, each one from a different company and even had a BL one in there.
  • Door and lid open and closed testing
  • So much more

Yeah no glue for pla has been my experience on Prusa and Ender3. I used glue for petg though.

at this point no prints are working anymore on this printer so will try glue but I suspect the issue is deeper ā€¦ still waiting for next response to ticketā€¦ I found it ā€œclosedā€ and reopended but no respense yet :frowning:

I canā€™t see why this would have disappeared unless you modified the machine gcode but can you make sure you have the following (highlighted) in your P1S start gcode:

Also as it seems you issue is z homing (as you excluded a dirty plate issue), can you check your nozzle tip has no remaining filament stuck to it which could make z homing off. Also, have you done a bed levelling lately (or do you do it at each print?) as you may have a slightly warped bed which make the print at right Z value in the center but too high on the sides.

You can try to increase squish by increasing this -0.04 value in machine start gcode to -0.06 and see if it solves it.

I am waiting for next response from BL on the ticketā€¦ we have been going backj an forth since may 12th,

Donā€™t wait, add more content now with the link.

I have not tuched the machine gcode at all it is what was there from day one.

Dirty plate I am sure is not the issue as I have cleaned both plates very carefully before each print and test.

I did a manualy bed tramming several times. per BL support request and do bed level before each print.

The nozzle tip is clean I even removed the boot and made sure nothing was surrounding the tip. (this happens on my ender3 so I I checked on the P1S incase)

I do have that code in my settings its at the bottom of the start code and is set to -0.04

Thanksā€¦ TY for all the help/suggestions

heh I did add a link to this topic and a few more photos failed prints. I have been printing on my friends BL P1S and love it so much I am really excited to get mine working as well as his.

You are welcome, Iā€™m only disappointed we couldnā€™t get it resolved without BL support being a necessity.

Iā€™m enjoying mine, Iā€™ve only had it just over a week.

I started with the A1 mini, then the A1 (recalled) and now the P1S with a couple of AMS units.

I have had several 3D printers before, but, nothing as easy as these are (typically).

I learnt fusion360 to print on this in multicolor  so far all my designs print great on my buddyā€™s p1s and hopefully they will print great on mine soon too

That looks like a knock-off plate, quite possibly its not the best quality and the cause of these issues. Iā€™ve got a few plates that have defect areas and they need a lot of careful planning to avoid certain spots. If this is the case, Iā€™d suggest the purchase of a genuine plate as youā€™ll get better results.

its the OEM plate that came with the printer

actually everything has been offical bambu lab since I opened the box. since the problem started day 1 of use I didnt want that to be blamed, Well other than non bambu filament but overture and sunlu no cheapie brands really.

I am dying to chyange the screen for a touchpad but will wait till this issue is solved
