your are completely missing the point… i know that maker world supports ai tools. and this has nothing to do with misleading cover images. whatever, i got you point and you. not really mine, but its fine.
ps: i don’t upload here i use other platforms. and after the interaction with this platform i wont in the near future.
It’s probably the right decision, because it’s mostly adults who create models here. Of course, the visitors are mixed, but the creators tend to be more mature.
Your basic attitude probably wouldn’t fit in here, given that you insult people and are now writing pages and pages about why that’s not the case, even though you’re the one causing trouble. It seems that you are not aware of how your text is perceived by the general public, who are likely to find it offensive.
Or to put it simply: You have offended someone, now take responsibility for it like an adult.
This is probably the first online platform you’ve been on where AI isn’t the main issue, isn’t it? Sure, there’s a lot to criticise, but you haven’t thought this through as much as you think.
you are the one insultig here, mate. you write a lot. passive aggressively. go on. act like the holy grail of this community. so mature by explaining me how the world works.
if you dont like me or my attitude i dont care. i’m not here for you. you are not the moral compas here. you dont have to interact with me. i’m done wasting my time talking to you.
That doesn’t make sense. Your comments are being removed because they are offensive. I am not the moral compass; MakerWorld is. They are the ones removing your comments. I don’t have the authority to delete comments. I just answered your question about why they are being removed.
I’m not insulting anyone here because I don’t want my comments to be removed. In fact, I’m trying to help people. Other users have written to you too, but if you don’t want their help, there’s nothing we can do. Life goes on.
However, it must be said that you will continue to encounter problems if you do not change your behaviour or recognise your mistake.
first of all: it did not got removed because of offensive words (officially):
i now, that my comment was offensive. i know that. we are far beyond this point. i even acknowledged that in my seconds message (while i not agree that this is inappropriate!)! you are the one constantly talking about the initial question. this is a thread, topics change a little if you would follow it.
cite of mine:
So… the “AI slop” part is the reason. No problem then. Next time i’ll just make the screenshot without comments. Kinda sad, because the “ai slop artist” part in this case is a fact…
you:
It’s probably the right decision, because it’s mostly adults who create models here.
yeah, absolutely not insulting! you have a problem sir. you see offensive thing on others but on yourself?
Or to put it simply: You have offended someone, now take responsibility for it like an adult.
i already did in my seconds post. what do you expect from me? an apology video? the problem changed in the thread. the reason from makerworld is absolutely stupid (that is a fact) just look at the screenshot.
my latest post was mostly because of other reports of misleading tags in this thread. i’m not allow to call them out in the chat, because it may be “offensive”. so i reported them. bu the way makerworld is handling stuff like this is plain stupid. they see my report related to the tags. They mark it as resolved. tell me that it is resolved. and if i go to the page nothing changed. tags still there. fake tags like simpsons still there. so again: no. i dont think that “how it should be resolved” works. that the main reason i started to comment it, too.
i end this thread here. hope to never writing with you again. bye
Just to clarify, you should read and quote the entire comment. ‘Adult’ can have several meanings, such as relating to age or mature behaviour. In this context: There are many mature individuals participating in this forum.
Why would I insult you? I don’t even know you. Maybe it’s because of the language that you misunderstand my comment, or makerworld’s reasoning.
I know you’ll probably see this as an attack, but I’m actually trying to help. Why not give these translators a try? They can also help with your spelling.
I apologise for the repeated message, but I needed to clarify this point. Otherwise, have fun and whatever floats your boat.
I’ve actually been afraid to comment on some AI slop stuff in the recent contests because I’m worried I’ll get punished instead
Like look at the Candy dispenser contest for example, trending is full of entries that are clearly someone typing “design a cute animal themed candy holder” and posting their result
Why can’t I report them for not even being relevant to the theme, will they win? Maybe not, But they’ll soak up lots of points that could go to legitimate creators.
Makerworld selects the winners manually. This means that a team evaluates how unique and printable each entry is, as well as taking personal taste into account. Points or downloads do not indicate the chances of winning.
You can report irrelevant content, but please note that just because you think it is irrelevant, does not mean that MakerWorld will see it that way. Opinions often differ on what is and isn’t relevant.
Furthermore, the number of points does not indicate whether users will be able to redeem them, as each account is evaluated and verified during the conversion process.
It is important to note that seeing them receive points does not mean they can redeem gift cards.
I get that, but it’s well known that Contests are great for reach, and whether or not people get gift cards out of it or not doesn’t change the fact that the views/likes/boosts/downloads/makes are going to AI garbage when it could have gone to others.
I mentioned this in another thread, but in the candy dispenser contest at the moment, 10 of the top 25 trending models in the contest are simple “generate a [animal/character] themed candy bowl” 5 times each.
then someone else sees this and they do it too. When I’m bored on my break i might actually see if i can count how many of the 388 entries are like that.
It’s also a Master Challenge, I’m not sure if a simple Bowl or Catch all tray even fits the criteria personally, but that’s up to makerworld. It still takes up space in the contest, and if you scroll for a while you can actually find some really good entries, but they are buried in a sea of AI slop
I’m aware, I had a contest entry that was well and truly ahead of everyone else in Likes/Downloads/Makes. I was given a participation award and the winner of that one was a remix (technically against the rules, but as you said makerworld gets to choose as it’s their contest)
The thing though, the reach that I gained from being trending for that contest has now far surpassed the 1st/2nd/3rd prize. So to me it’s more valuable to be in the running of a contest with a good long-lasting entry, and winning is icing on top.
Sorry i rambled a bit, Long story short I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you but having contests flooded with AI slop that barely fits the criteria at times, is disheartening.
The least they could do is limit entries to 1 per person.
