Under-extrusion or bad filament?

I’m using a silk filament from a non-Bambu vendor and have what for some prints looks like under-extrusion even after calibration (see pic). The problem is the whole calibration ladder looks awful (other pic). This filament has presets in the bambu slicer which I haven’t changed except for looking at K. I’ve dried the filament, though now it seems back up to 18%. The prints are also really brittle which I’ve read is a sign of really old filament.

I didn’t buy the filament and am trying to print a bunch of objects for an acquaintance and this was what they purchased based on color in vendor pics via amazon.

Should I try drying further, cutting off several meters (read on another forum), toss the roll, other options?

Easiest thing is to dry again. Depending on what you use to dry, you can even print while drying, and if it’s a moisture issue, you’ll see improvements rather quickly when printing while drying.

I’d also try a completely new profile for the filament, especially if the profile you have on this filament has gone through multiple bambu studio updates and/or printer firmware updates.

Thanks, I’ll dry further and check the filament profile relative to recommendations and maybe bump temp up by 5C.

I’ve mainly just changed temps to change luster with metallic PLA but that is reported as helping with silk under-extrusion in other online posts.
