Uneven prints

I’m batch printing some logos for a non-profit I volunteer for and have included a magnet in the middle of the print. As you can see in the photo, the prints on the back of the plate print just fine, but as you move closer to the front, the first layer over the magnet doesn’t adhere/bridge well and it results in a garbage outcome.

I have tried printing with the enclosure fully closed, the top glass off with door closed, and with the top glass off and door open and there’s no difference.

Ignore the small detritus. I had been playing around with ironing the top layer, but will likely stop due to the mess and inconsistent smoothness of the top layer.

My concern is that the prints are not consistent throughout the build plate. The whole plate takes 9 hours when full and when printing by object, each logo takes ~2 hours. Due to the number of filament changes and the built in pause for magnet insertion, I really don’t want to print by object.

Any thoughts as to why the prints are uneven based on plate location? I of course have leveling turned on. I also have the Hula feet installed and recalibrated the machine (with no appreciable improvement) after noticing the current uneven prints.

The magnets when placed onto the print are level and don’t protrude from the surface of the print in progress. I am printing with BL PLA basic coming out of an AMS 2 pro with a 14% RH. I am printing at a 0.16 layer height with a 0.4 nozzle. Other than some start print g-code for the nozzle wiper, I have no code changes and no hardware mods installed.

The white is the back of the model and the face is against the build plate?
The purge line being gold is why I ask.
Is that PLA Metal?
I have not messed with placing magnets so pardon if this is stupid but could something be going on with magnets polarity between each other and/or build plate?

Yes, I created it by importing the logo file into maker lab. I print face down since that’s where all the detail is and I want to make sure it is uniform from print to print whereas I don’t care if there’s layer lines or other minor inconsistencies on the back of the puck.

Yes, that’s why the purge is gold. I set gold as the first color to print because the gold part of the logo has the finest detail and I don’t want it displaced by colors that have more surrounding volume.

Nope, just PLA basic

The magnetic polarity doesn’t affect the nozzle since the tip is brass.

You can apply hair spray on the surface of the magnet before placing it in the print. This would to help filament stay in place in stead of dragging the plastic on top of the magnet to elsewhere.

I was talking about magnetic interaction between the magnets you imbedded in print and the magnetic base of printer. Magnets in print are going to try and align with the bed magnet is what I was thinking about.

I see what you’re getting at but if that were the case I’d expect to see the fault with prints across the entire build plate rather than the front only. Plus, I’ve moved this job over to my A1 and it is printing flawlessly which makes me concerned there’s some bed mesh / level issue with the P1S.
