Ok, I’m in the same “happy user” group. When a problem does appear, you learn very quickly. So far we literally have only 1 issue with plate adhesion, so I’d actually say it’s the other way around. A few opinions about a bad unit, transport damage, or simple user errors don’t make the printer bad.
Problems will happen for sure. When I was removing all the screws, I was already thinking how many people would mess this up—not because they’re not intelligent, but because everything is extremely small and hard to handle with “fat fingers.”
If there were any serious, widespread issues, we would have heard about them by now. I work in IT, and I know that when Apple messes up an update, everyone knows the next day.
My theory about the non-sticking plate issue: the extra nozzles from the Ultimate set have some transparent, oily substance in them—it looks like oil. If someone installs those nozzles, the default purge may not be enough to flush it out. I only noticed this on the extra nozzles; the ones that came pre-installed in the printer didn’t have this liquid. So anyone who installed nozzles from the Ultimate set and started printing right away could run into adhesion issues.
I’m about 60% sure about this. No one seems to have noticed it except me. I guess I was the only one who pushed TPU filament into the nozzle to see how deep it goes—and realized oil was actually coming out of it. I wonder if people with issues all have ultimate set nozzles.
