I have a large number of custom and third party (mostly eSun specific) filament configs that work fine in Bambu Studio, but whenever I sync info with the printer it sets them in the “Project Filaments” section to whatever generic version was used for that slot last.
Is there a way I can upload custom profiles from Studio to the AMS, so I can just select the right custom profile on the touchscreen without having to change it back again in Studio?
It’s very finicky, I think you can only do it once you’ve done a K value calibration.
Is that even possible? I’ve never been able to select my custom filament variants on the printer—only the base profiles.
To clarify: if I create a POM filament profile, I can select POM on the printer, but I can’t choose the specific sub-profile where I’ve adjusted speeds and other parameters. If that’s what you meant, fine—but what I’d really like is to select my saved, customized profiles directly on the printer, instead of syncing a base profile and then having to switch manually.
That’s exactly how my POM setup behaves today: the printer shows the default POM I pushed to it, but not the derived, tuned profile I actually use for slicing.
It is possible, it’s just VERY VERY VERY unreliable and super inconvenient than people think. TBH, looks like a AMS protocol/firmware limitation.
What a very weird limitation - the H2D obviously has a list of profiles, I wonder why there’s not an easy way to just add to the list or edit it.
