I have an original two-piece model I’m uploading to MW. I have it “print by object” on one plate because it’s less print time then 2 plates. But when I do this, there doesn’t seem to be a way for MW to mark it as compatible for ALL Bambu printer types. Any solution this?
I tried various things like setting the printer to A1 Mini in Bambu Studio and using Auto-Arrange and then saving and uploading to MW. I figured A1 Mini is the most restrictive print area so if it setup nicely for the A1 Mini, it should be seen as compatible for all printers. This causes MW to only deem it compatible for A1 and A1 Mini.
The only way to upload it to MW and have it deemed compatible for all printers is if I separate it into 2 plates.
TLDR: It seems like if you upload a “print by object” model to MW, it’s impossible to get MW to mark it as compatible for ALL Bambu printers. What am I missing? Thx!
You’re not missing anything. It’s just print-by-object causes profile to be unavailable to “incompatible” printers. The only remedy is to either not use print-by-object or add several profiles, made specifically for printers.

That’s a bummer. I wish there was something Bambu could do about this. Like if their “verification step” could attempt to just virtually auto-arrange the parts for each printer and check if it’s compatible.
For this model I just uploaded, I had to upload 3 versions.
Yeah, its very annoying and bites me all the time. Print by object is very useful its just a shame that you essentially get penalized for trying to make things easier to print. I have done the separate profiles for different printers in the past but lately I’m thinking I may just avoid it all together and put things on more build plates.
The part you’re missing is actually not that obvious until you get it pointed out, its because the spacing required for objects changes based on the printer you’re using
Looks at the different toolheads, the different spacing between the nozzle tip and the rail/rods that hold it, one thing i didn’t realise until i did the vortek upgrade was how absolutely massive the H2D toolhead actually was in terms of depth compared to the others
So thats why it can’t automatically mark things as compatible with other machines, the spacing requirements change, something that fits with enough space on the A1 bed could end up far too close on the X/P1 because of the larger toolhead, i mean it would be nice if it could do it but realistically not everything can properly fit on every printer with the same spacing
Yeah, I get all that. It would be interesting if bambu could somehow make use of the “auto-arrange” functionality in this situation. If you create a P-B-O plate that’s setup for A1 Mini and the spacing is not-workable for the X/P1, maybe bambu could automatically apply the auto-arrange. Or just leave everything where it is and at least programmatically check if applying auto-arrange would make it workable for each printer. And then when the user opens it on the X/P1 they just need to hit auto-arrange.

I’m coming at this from the perspective of someone who uploads original models and wants maximize my chances that everyone will to be able to print them. Being printable/findable via the app and having them print quickly (print by object) is important.
Also, I often upload a few print profiles for a model as it is and so having to create and upload 3 or 4 times that number to accommodate every single printer is a lot of work.
Problem is auto arrange won’t let you have the avoid area be off the plate, whereas some models will definitely need it, and if there is no more space to move things because the toolhead is too big the auto arrange can’t do anything anyway
Trying to mess with that automatically is just asking for print failures to happen so instead of someone ending up with a bad automatic arrangement that fails which nets you a bunch of bad reviews, they just opt to let you decide what needs to be done or to let the end user decide how they want to print it
And the best way to make that be the case is to not have anything automatically mess with print orders and locations on the bed
I know it is unlikely MW has a solution for this already, but just in case - this is still the case, right? Meaning when using “print by object”, the print profile can only be used on the exact kind of printer the profile was set on.
yep. Not really just the same but: A1, P1S/P2S/X1D/X2D or H2
I had to edit a few print profiles and take that off, because people were telling me they couldn’t print stuff from the phone.
