Uploaded images have changed orientation

I have uploaded a series of models and profiles to Makerworld and for a while everything was OK. As of a few days (weeks?) ago I noticed that some of my uploaded images have changed orientation, becoming sideways or upside down. Here’s an interesting example:

As you can see, the vertical images are now upside down. However, the same image when used in the profile is right side up. I’m not sure what the pattern is - i suspect it has to do with the models that i imported from my Printables account, but they looked correct when i did the import a while ago - it’s only now that the issue has appeared.

I would rather not have to edit dozens of uploads, especially if it’s a bug that will get resolved.

Has anyone else spotted something similar?

Andre

When a picture is taken, the orientation of the image is stored in some image formats.

If you rotate it in the camera or other device it doesn’t change the pixels, it changes the orientation flag value.

Not all software reads the orientation flag. Some strip it out.

The only safe way is to test first (not possible in your situation) import into a graphics editor and save in the correct orientation.

MakerWorld is in a middle of an upgrade right now (as per a support ticket I put in yesterday).

The weird thing is that these images were correctly oriented when i posted my models months ago. They changed orientations in the past few days - almost like the portal stopped looking at the flag. It feels like a bug.
