I have a problem: I’m trying to print this vase shape and I’ve noticed this sort of less translucent spot.
At first, I thought (though I wasn’t very convinced, since it doesn’t go all the way around the piece) that it might be due to an inconsistency in the filament (Bambulab PLA translucent). So, just to test it, I printed the exact same thing twice and… guess what… I have practically the same spot (there are some slight differences, but they’re really minor). What could be causing this? (Is it related to the ventilation?) And most importantly, how do I get rid of it?
I’d be tempted to reduce the speed, but I don’t see why that would solve the problem, since speed isn’t an issue everywhere else where there isn’t the blemish.
I should mention that this shape comes from a cylinder that I transformed in Blender using loops, and the rounded shape is perfectly regular.
I have an A1 Mini with AMS (I don’t think the AMS makes a difference). I’m printing at 0.08mm layer height, high quality option, “smooth spiral,” with a 0.4mm nozzle (I don’t know if my settings are optimal, but it seems to work very well everywhere there isn’t the spot!).
(And I don’t want to print anything thicker, I need transparency.)
Not knowing the full shape of the model or the orientation on the plate,
if you have the issue in the same place each time…it could be a cooling issue.
It actually is a cooling issue. Silk prints hotter than normal PLA, as soon as you block cooling with supports or the fan isnt running fast enough because the layer time, you will have that effect because basically, the filament on the next layer drags the filament below.
Fan on high and print slower.
Hi. I’m just coming back to tell you that it worked perfectly, so a thousand thanks!
I was surprised to see that the 16 mm thickness is actually even more transparent than 8 mm!!
What would you consider the optimal settings for my setup (translucent PLA on an A1 Mini) to achieve invisible or nearly invisible lines and the best transparency? I thought a single wall was a must, but now I’m starting to have doubts, etc… And what about layer height and other parameters? optimal speed ?
Thanks
