Vase mode weird dragged/shifted filament issues

Hi everyone, I’ve recently run into an issue. It was working fine before, but now the problem has started appearing.

I’m getting some weird dragged/shifted filament in random spots while printing in vase mode. Could anyone help me figure out what might be causing this and how to fix it?

I’m still new to 3D printing, and my printer isn’t even a year old yet. Should I just replace the nozzle? I already did a cold pull and it doesn’t seem clogged.

im using elegoo PLA its worked fine before this start happen.

Do you have and have you used a filament drier for this filament? Moisture absorbed by the filament turns to steam in the hot nozzle, and that causes a little excess filament to be driven out, which can build up on the nozzle until it’s big enough to snag something on the print and get pulled off (leaving a blob).

I don’t have a filament dryer yet, but I’m considering getting one in the future. I’m currently using a brand-new filament, but I’m still experiencing the issue.

So basically, is it possible that my problem is wet filament? My printer is printing right now. I lowered the flow rate from 98% to 96%.

anw, there’s only creality space and sunlu P1S available here. do have some recommendation for a dryer?

I just noticed my printer briefly pauses and then resumes, which is enough to create a blob. What could be causing these pauses? Timelapse is off.

Check your slicer preview carefully in the spots you noticed the printer pausing, see if its anything the slicer is commanding the machine to do. If not, it might be something along the lines of nozzle clump detection etc to turn off on the machine itself.

Common misconception that new filament right from the bag is guaranteed to be dry. And even if it is dry, if you don’t put it in an AMS after opening the bag it will reabsorb moisture very quickly. Like, less than a day. For filaments like Nylon, hours.

I don’t know why the printer is pausing, but if filament oozes out when paused, it’s more than likely it’s moisture that’s causing that oozing.
