Velocity Adaptation Factor

I noticed this (new?) setting in filament profiles.

Didn’t manage to find any info on it that would directly relate to the world of 3D printing. Could someone more knowledgeable explain how does this directly affect the behaviour of my machine?

I’m wondering if it could be tuned for better results with, say, TPE. The stuff I print is, if I recall correctly, a TPC, and takes a while to set after leaving the nozzle. It’s also terrible to print, with a Shore hardness of around 80A, blobbing and over-/underextruding at its own whim. What kind of results could I expect decreasing the value of this parameter?

Why not print a benchy with it set to .5 and 2 and find out definitively for yourself?

The Bambu Wiki has no information on VAF.

A quick search of the Studio GitHub for “velocity adaptation” found nothing informative.

Though we can see that there IS a single setting, Google AI says there is not:

None mention a single factor, they talk of adjusting pressure advance, MVS, flow rate, etc.

I’m guessing that VAF is supposed to magically provide a single control adjusting all those related factors. I’m accustomed to using the individual fine controls already, so I don’t plan to mess with VAF until more information is available.
