Wall surface quality

Printer : A1

Filament : ABS generic

Slicer : Bambu lab

Problem:

I am printing a small cube of 20x20x20 Abs filament. I notice that the front and right side walls are perfect, but left and back walls have under extruded filament. This repeats consistently even after multiple tries. I change the outer wall speed from 200 to 100 mm, but problem is same. The printing sequence starts from the back wall.

Any idea why it is happening.

I do not print ABS due to toxicity, but doing it on an open printer is difficult.
Not only because of the lack of chamber temp control, but also due to possible drafts which can give directionally prominent failures.

A gently draft is a frequent root cause for directional wall defects. Especially when printing higher temp materials. A few degrees in environmental temp or just a very minor draft can cause a lot of issues. So if anything, even minor, changed in the room before the print…

The pic also indicates elephant foot and shows shrinkage in particular in the infill region, although the latter can probably not be avoided on an A1. Probably not an issue at this size though.

Nozzle temp : 270

Speed: 100 mm / sec & 200 mm/s outer layers, I have tried both, results are same

try setting your outer wall speed to 50mms, and is your filament dry?

Just for curiosity, try a test print with a draft shield:

  1. Go to the Process/Prepare panel and click on the Others tab.
  2. Locate the Bed Adhesion section.
  3. Set the Skirt loops to a number greater than zero (e.g., 2 or 3).
  4. Find the Skirt height option and type in the height of your model in millimeters, or select the option to make it as tall as the object.

The other possibility is you have a pressure advance issue, have you tried calibrating yet?
