Warping and Nuggets

Is this warping/nugget making at the top purely due to warping at the bottom(there was a very slight amount as I had brims added). This was with mostly default 0.2mm layer height, 2 walls, 5% gyroid infill. Wondering if bigger brim, more infill, or different infill would be better to stop the nuggets forming at the top.

To me, it looks more like vibrations (because of the even spacing of your nuggets) at the top are probably causing this. I would try adding a height modifier to slow the top 1/4 of the model down.

The repeating pattern suggests a belt issue, but since it only shows up at the top, slowing down will probably get rid of most of that. I’d use the 0.28 draft profile. The waviness at the top means it’s wobbling. A larger brim may help some, but that shape is going to wobble at almost any speed, more so as it gets taller.

Is there a setting built into bambu’s slicer that could allow me to slow down the speed past a certain layer height? Or would i need to edit gcode?

There are modifiers for that; you can do it that way. :+1:

This allows you, for example, to set different print speeds in one area than in another.

Thank you for showing me this modifier! Looks amazing. I am going to print another piece of this and see how it does.

This is also an option; I’ve never used it as I prefer height modifiers, but it might work well for your specific use case:

  1. Go to the Process menu and navigate to the Speed tab.
  2. Enable the Slow down by height option.
  3. Configure the specific Start height and the Minimum speed to ensure gradual deceleration as the extruder reaches the top of the print.
