I print mostly ASA and Nylon.
when I first started had bad warping and was recommented on the place to increase noz temp-280, bed temp-110 and pre heat chamber. so I did that and started having perfect prints. I print the same parts most of the time.
recently on 1 part that is a round disk that I have printed 6 perfect parts and now all the sudden I have getting bad warping. nothing has changed that I know of.
I have the dessicant pods in the AMS and normally the meter runs at 10 on humidity. it has creeped up to 20 so I have dried the dessicant. the only other thing i have noticed is the sticker on my smooth pei plate it is bubbling a little. so I am wondering if the sticker is coming loose to allow the part to warp. Is that possible? if so these plates don’t last very long. anybody have another reason why this has started all the sudden?
How are you cleaning your plate? That’s the first thing I do when I start to get adhesion issues. Oh and double check that the AUX fan isn’t turning on for some reason.
I was with dawn soap and water, I have checked to see it the fan got turned on and it is off.
I havd 2 x1c’s and the other I print a lot of nylon and started having issues of not sticking and I dry the nylon again and that solved that problem.and that build plate has bubble in it also but these parts are not a big.
one thing i didn’t mention is I use stick glue on the build plate everytime. nothing has changed in my procedure
If you have one of those green scouring pads that might help your sticking problem.
I use it lightly everytime I wash my plate with soap and water.
I got some 1000 grit sandpaper (that’s all they had) to see if I could revive my engineering plate that came with my 1st bambu but it didn’t help. the 2nd bambu came with a textured plate and I have never liked it, but when I bought these smooth pei plates I thought I was in heaven because everthing was sticking so good to these. but now all the sudden I am having trouble with just 1 big part. tomorrow I will try again with a new batch of filament, also i have the dried dessicant in the AMS and if it still doesn’t work I will dry the filament and try again. i will lookd to see if I have some scratch pads
Scuff it a little.
I use the smooth for the same thing, every now and then it starts to let up a bit. If washing doesn’t fix it then a little scuff will help it. Not too much, just a little. The scouring pad would be best given you don’t want the sticker damaged.
I’m sure you’ve noticed ABS , ASA and to some extent Nylon leave a film on the inside. That builds up over time. Could just use a little IP and wipe it between a few prints.
I have had luck with “Magic Eraser” (Melamine sponges) instead of trying to rough up the face.
I washed my build plate with hot water and Dawn dish soap, scrubbing it, but that didn’t work for me. After washing it and using a little water with the melamine sponge, the prints were sticking like new for me!
So I keep the sponges close to my printer now, and if I show any sign of prints not sticking, I clean it with the Magic Eraser.
