It’s such a thankless job. They really should pay the moderators, and pay them well. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to do it for free.
The only thing I ever got from being a “regular” was the ability to change the title of someone else’s thread. Which I used exactly once, before losing even that meager thing, but it wasn’t because my Masarati does 185.
The perks aren’t there, and they’re gone in a flash anyway. If I ever had the power to fork threads, I could have used that many times to great benefit for many, but I guess only true moderators get that, until they burnout and dropout, and then they’re back to square one with no residual, like it never happened. Thankless, unthanked, and unappreciated. Yet, for some reason, people want to do it anyway. Go figure.
I’m pretty sure @Ikraus would do a good job of it, but I wouldn’t want to send him on a known suicide mission.
