Weird dots in my prints

Hi anyone know what is causing this . i have 400 ish hrs on my printer so far . only thing i have changed on the last 2 prints is the layer hight to 0.16 i normaly print at 0.20 standard . and its happend on both of them

Your printer is fine. The filament is what’s in question. What kind of filament is it? Have you dried it? Have you calibrated the filament after drying?

The indicators in this photo suggest wet filament and/or miscalibration. I’d lean toward miscalibration, with improper pressure advance being the most likely cause. However, calibrating without confirming proper drying—by weighing it before and after to confirm moisture loss—is a waste of time.

its bambu lab matte pla . been using it for a few days in the AMS and its only been the last 2 prints this has happend on . 10% humidity in the ams must of printed 30 ish items with the same spool but only these 2 that show that on the prints

That’s an important piece of the puzzle since spool drag can be a contributing factor too.

If I may suggest, whenever one has an issue like this it is best to print a simple model like a cube but do so using a direct feed outside of the AMS. This reduces the number of diagnostic points. If you spool the filament directly and you get the same result, that then points to a filament issue. The next test would be to try to reproduce it with a dissimilar filament. If it only happens with one filament, then you have your answer as to the cause. But if it happens with both filaments, then there could be an issue with the extruder slipping. Look at the Wiki page for extruder replacement which will walk you through how to take the extruder apart and clean it.

Now if all prints clean and you place it back in the AMS and the problem reappears, then it’s the AMS feed that comes into question. The diagnostic steps are similar. First change the spool position to another slot to rule out that it isn’t the rollers in a specific slot that’s causing this or even a fouled PTFE tube. If the problem appears in all 4 slots, then you start moving down the feed path inspecting all the intervening points for blockages or binding.

ok i found out what it was . calibrated and printed again . still had the marks . then found out that having Random for seams can make the same marks . so turned off random and now the prints are fine .
