I have never seen these transparent elements before, what is that?
How can I move both, the underlaying 3D element and the transparent element? Unfortunately I am unable to select both, it will only move one of them.

The transparent object represents a modifier. Changes made to the settings for the Zylinder will be applied to the knob only where they overlap.
You should be able to move a knob and it’s modifier together, or both knobs and both modifiers, just by using standard selection keys (Ctrl+C or Command+C). Or select “Knob.stl” two lines above your choice in the picture to move both the knob and its modifier.
Thanks! But unfortunately I can’t move them together, even if I manually click on “Knob.stl” on the left.
I use BambuStudio 2.4.0.70.
On the left panel in studio under Process click on Objects (next to Global) and then expand the .stl on the plate you’re working. Left click on the .stl and then press and hold shift to select the modifier. You should be able to move them together. Remember control z is your friend if you need to undo things. Here’s a pic of the screen I’m referring to:
Hmm, strange – no way, it won’t work. It will always move only the cylinder.
OK, I was lazy and did not test in the current version of Studio, which is not working like previous versions, or my usual Orcaslicer.
Try holding down the Shift key first, then click the knob, click the modifier, release the shift key. Bounding box should then include both items and they can be moved together.
It would work (even without [Shift]) if they are seperated:
But if they are not seperated, even [Shift] won’t work and only move the cylinder:
It works.
I just tried, but I don’t use the [shift] , but the [Ctrl] button, so you can select the second piece, and then release [Ctrl]. Now just move the two pieces in the same time.
I get inconsistent results. Sometimes the bounding box includes both object and modifier, but then they separate when you begin the move. Sometimes they are selectable individually, sometimes not. Certainly does not follow the Windows convention of making a first selection and then holding Control for additional selections. You need to hold Control before making the first choice.
Just try this :
If this don’t work, you also can use the “moving” function with coordinates. There shuold be a tuto in the printer academy or somewhere in the FAQ.
I really don’t have to hold it before first choice. Maybe it’s something different with qwerty / azerty keyboards ?
