Hi all, I just bought the P2S standalone, not combo, which, hopefully, will arrive in a month… I already own an AMS2 pro and an AMS HT… what buffer should I buy in order to use both of them with the beast?

I did the same thing, you will need the filament buffer for the P2S, currently not in stock, but should be by December 4. It costs about $30 USD, but I think does not come with any PTFE tubing, both are available at the BamBu Labs Store, be sure to select the correct country.
Meanwhile, if you have the P2S, you can print with the external filament on the side.

You have the choice between AMS Hub and single buffer + 4-in-1 adapter. It seems like the Hub is the outdated, more expensive solution and the buffer + 4-in-1 is just fine.
In theory, the hub has the advantage that it can detect filament in each of the 4 inputs individually. No idea if that has any practical benefit.
Make sure that you have all cables needed, e.g. one 4 pin cable and for each AMS one 6-pin cable!
Bought the P2S Combo, then ordered an AMS-HT. Both connected to the “standard” P2S buffer, with the HT on the feed for the external spool holder. Works great.

I think so, the buffer has 2 ports on it, I have seen pictures on YouTube with an AMS and the external reel attached, you will have to manually load filament for the external, but the AMS should load as normal on other BamBu printers…
Please let us know how it works out for you, I am waiting for the Buffer, but trying (successfully) using the external reel - It works OK but is kinda klunky compared to the AMS! The P2S comes with a short length of PTFE tube.
This is the only buffer that works with the P2S, and you’ll need it to connect one, or both of your AMS. It’s all you’ll need if you only want to connect the two you already have, but if you want to do 3 or more you’ll need the 4 way splitter.

Means you can make fully automated 5 colors print using this setup?
I was never thinking that way, therefore I use for the external spool creality space pi but have to manualy load the filament. If this works automated that way, I will maybe rethink it again. Second AMS Pro is too much for me. Don‘t thing about printig so much multicolor as it takes then ages.

Yes, automated five colour is possible this way. But I use the HT mainly for PETG-HF and the Pro for PLA. (Different drying temperatures.)

looking at the wiki I see that the buffer must be firstly connected to a P2S’ cable… is this cable present even in the non-native combo P2S or should it be also bought apart?
Yes, it’s on both. If you look on the back of the P2S there an indention where the buffer goes. There’s a rubber plug in that indention and you have to pull it out. Then you’ll see the ribbon cable that plugs in to the buffer.
