What causes the printer to reload filament in a single colour print?

Sometimes, my X1C just gets unhappy about something, and it keeps unloading and loading the filament while printing. its a single colour print, theres no reason it should unload and reload, but theres clearly some sensor or issue somewhere that is causing issues and reloads.

Does anyone know what specifically causes this behaviour so i can actually troubleshoot the issue rather than just fight the printer over this behaviour? Because the X1C struggles to load filament into the toolhead due to the filament sensor design every time it does this is another potential failure and requirement for intervention.

Hi

It can relate to more than one cause:

The buffer spring and slider are more straightforward to diagnose and solve (2). Besides the wiki, I think that the bounded tube and the path profile up to the extruder are also worth to check.
