I had been having a problem with adhesion to the build plate, so I made a number of changes (build plate temp, nozzle temp, etc.). The problem was resolved however now on the bottom of the printed object, instead of showing a reflection of the build plate pattern, I have a grid like mesh which extends beyond the base (by about a few tenths of mm) of the printed object. Any suggestions as to "what did I do " to cause this addition to the base of the 3d printed object?
This is what it looks like. The one on the left (foot pair) was the print prior to changes and the one on the right is after (with the mesh on the bottom). If it was raft layer, will lowering the number resolve it?

I would turn off the raft by setting raft layers to zero. The model on the left proves that it is not needed.
If adherence is still a problem, try a brim, which usually requires less post-print cleanup.
