What do I get?

Hi if I order a 3D effect sheet as shown below, what do I get? do I need a plate of does it come with one? If not what plate do I need?

It depends on what exactly you want to order, which unfortunately isn’t clear from your screenshot: If you order “plate”, it comes with a plate. If you order “sheet”, then it’s just the sheet.

A 3D effect sheet is a PEI Sheet for a build plate that uses a textured PEI sheet for a surface… Works just like the standard textured PEI build plate does…

Print on it and the Carbon Fibre pattern will show on the part when finished and separated from the plate…

Easy Peasy..

1. For best results, we recommend applying the 3D effect spare sheet only on the official steel plate from Bambu Lab.

2. Bambu Engineering Plate (the other side of Bambu Cool Plate/High Temp Plate) can also be used for applying the Bambu 3D Effect Sheets. If you plan to apply a 3D effect spare sheet on an existing plate, ensure that you remove the previous sheet and clean any glue residue completely before installing the 3D effect spare sheet. Make sure the surface is dry and clean before the application.

3. Please set the plate type to Smooth PEI/High Temp Plate and carefully follow the Heatbed Recommended Settings when using the Bambu 3D Effect Plate.

4. The 3D effect patterns require a clean surface to remain visible. Grease can cause the patterns to disappear. It is essential to keep the surface clean. We recommend using hot water and detergent for cleaning, and avoid touching the surface.

Considerations

1. Due to reflections, the LIDAR calibration will not work as expected when using Effect Sheets. We recommend skipping the LIDAR calibration sequence, or calibrating with a regular plate.

2. The 3D Effect Spare Sheets are considered consumables. To prolong the lifespan of the transfer textures, try placing your print objects on different areas of the sheet.

3. Do not apply glue to the sheet surface.

4. Pay close attention when using a scraper to remove prints, to avoid damaging the sheet surface.

That wasn’t the question asked at all - did your ChatGPT just melt down?

You get a rolled or folded effect sheet that has to be applied to one (if you have more than one) of your Bambu plates. For how to do it, either check Bambu’s Wiki, or read the first reply to your post.

It depends - if he orders the “plate” set, it will come with the plate and foil already applied. If he orders the “sheet” set, it comes without a plate, and he’ll have to attach it himself. Bambu described it a bit confusingly.

He asked three questions;

“what do I get? do I need a plate of does it come with one? If not what plate do I need?”

It answers all three quite sufficiently…

I honestly don’t understand the point of posts like this. Congratulations, you know how to ask a gpt something. We can all do that, including OP.

If you can’t even bother to read your post to make sure it actually makes sense and answers the question, why the f*** do you think anyone else should read it?

Just a heads up… all of those 3D effect plates have horrible adhesion with anything but TPU.

Thank you, I couldn’t see the woods for the trees

I have tried two different sheets. One worked fine and had good adhesion, the other sheet would not hold my print at all. Perhaps if I slow down the print speed for the first layer to 30 mm/s and increase the filament temp to the max for the first layer I may get better results. What do you think?

Use glue…that might help with your adhesion problem
