Recently I had a clog to whatever reason but I’m past that. The fan was fine and it was time for me to get a hardened nozzle anyway so I decided to order 1x 0.4 nozzle and the 3 thermistor and heating element pack thing so that I could assemble it myself because the part that was irreplaceable on the clog was the nozzle and the thermistor. The parts came and I assembled the nozzle but I couldn’t put the black screw with the little blue end inside the fan but the mounting holes on the fan were too small and the screws would not fit by a clear margin. I decided to drill a slightly larger hole in hopes that the screw would fit and although it was snug the screw was finally seemed to be properly placed. HOWEVER, when it came time to screw the heatsink fan onto the actual nozzle to make it a hotend assembly, the screw wont fit. No matter what I do the screw simply is too large for the hotend and I am 100% I did it correctly and followed the steps. So I tried different screws as well I had 6 total of the black and blue screws but none of them fit. So now I am wonder what happened because I did have to take the assembly apart in the first place but why won’t things fit together? I have yet to submit a ticket but if I can’t get a solution from here I plan to.
TLDR: Something part of the assembly for the p1s either shrank or expanded for some reason?

The screws look very similar but they are not compatible and that for a good reason.
One could have checked the toasted hotened for those screws and why the supplied ones don’t seem to fit.
Heatsink and hotend CAN be a pain to mate the first time around.
Found that out the hard way…
The screws went in ok but they would not grab the threaded hole.
Looked perfectly aligned too…
Tried for about half an hour and started swearing at the thing in the hope it would help - it did not…
Then I tried the old screws from the other hotend - they went in just fine…
Upon a VERY close comparison I noticed the original screws for the hotend that came with the printer were slightly bevelled at the tip.
The ones that came with the hardened steel kit however were dead flat.
In the pic above you can see how the originals looked.
The ones for the hotend really only had the bur taken off the end.
I fixed that with a fine belt on the sander in half a minute
In the pic of the first post I can clearly see that screws with a too large diameter and/or wrong thread were forced into the heatsink…
Yeah I appreciate it! It took me forever but I finally realized that the screws are different but I find that kinda stupid oh well, thanks for the fix lol
I know what you mean, way back I repaired a gameboy for my kids not noticing 2 of the screws attaching top to bottom were longer… murphy’s law made me place them at wrong locations and they just went through the front face of the thing!!! My kids were really mad and I was also very embarassed… I had to purchase a new one to stop them from crying
