I recently just selected my region on makerworld, and all these different things I can get using my points popped up. In the corner of some of the items was a “99% off coupon” picture. Here’s an example of one of the items with it:
Can someone help me understand why it says that, and what it is/does?
It means that when you redeem your points, you are given a coupon to buy the product at 1% on the Bambu Store instead of getting it directly from points.
This is for a few reasons (speculation):
- Differing shipping costs
- Differing local taxes
- The store and makerworld work on different systems
Ohh, I think I mostly get it now. Does it expire?
Eventually. I can’t remember exactly, but you have multiple years.

So I only have to pay for the shipping and taxes, and the main cost is already paid?
Bro…
99 percent off means 99 percent off. You pay 1 percent, plus taxes and shipping.
Ok, but why does the coupon expire if I pay points to get it?
Because they all have expiration dates, means if they decide to change the discount rate to 60% later they aren’t stuck having to honour your 99% off indefinitely
Its pretty reasonable
