Very odd sound? Try taking the top gray dust cover off the z-axis (one screw - at the front of the cover) and see if the lead screw is running correctly? i.e not wobbling as it rotates?

Also check the rest of the Z-axis assembly for anything that may have fallen in? These are nicely engineered machines, perhaps something has got in there? The noise curiously repeats around the mid point of the travel. Perhaps that’s a clue to explore? Are you holding the travel button down? Or just pressing it once?

I have found the answer, through bambulab support. You need to re-align the z axis screw. It needs to be centered when you remove the top plastic cover. You can get the axis to the very top (care for ball bearings if you lift too much they will fall out) then loosen the two screws by half a turn a or a turn, then lower the axis, center the rod, tighten the one you can reach. Bring it back to top and tighten the other screw.

This exact same issue just started happening on my A1 Mini too, printer is only 3 days old and 7 hours of print time. I re-aligned the z-axis lead screw and the clicking noise went away!
I’m wondering though if you or anyone else that reads this could check how centered the z-axis lead screw is for me in the lowest and highest position? I ask because in the lowest position it’s not centered but in the highest it is, however the clicking noise is gone but I’m just wondering if this is normal.
