I thought I had read a MakerWorld guideline regarding external links listed on a project but I can’t find it this time around. I am curious what the rules are when it comes to making projects for items that I can’t just include a Bambu bill of material for. I am assuming that naming the hardware used in the project is fine, but what is the policy to directing people to where they can buy the hardware needed? For example giving a link to a site like Mouser or Adafruit.
I am not at a point right now where I plan on uploading anything either way, but my Dad who is into the electronics and programming side of things and I had been discussing making cases for projects he plans on making (maybe, eventually, you know how it goes) and I started to wonder what would happen if I shared a case using his project and tried to provide a link to buying the parts to complete it. Especially if it ends up something he builds a custom board for where the only place to buy it would be from him.
It isn’t like I couldn’t share stuff on other sites, but I kind of like MakeWorld and would prefer to put stuff up here if I can and not go afoul with their policies!
