We are in the process of designing an aircraft similar to a Piper PA-18 but with modifications. To make sure the parts fit from 3D-CAD models we print and fasten them in place and test on our mock-up before making the metal part.
This really helped us try many variations and designs, at times a few all in the same day. Its been fun a real time saver and indispensable for us in our design work. What a great 3D-Printer!
