I understand if it was near a color transition, but this was printing yellow for a long time before the black band happened. I have to throw them away.
Does the slicer show a speed, temperature, or flow rate change at those layers?
A small bit of dark filament was caught in the melt zone even after the purge, and at some later point got “into the mix”.
You’d be surprised how little dark filament is required to cause a big discoloration.

Surface finish makes it look like they are having some extrusion issues as well
Maybe that little bit of black broke itself loose when extruding the yellow. Cold pull would be a good idea.

No, nothing at all. One solid color for speed, and everything else,
I just noticed the surface finish. It’s really bad. Almost like fuzzy skin!
