Whats the best glue for pla?

Hi

is anyone able to recommend a good strong glue for pla? Ive generally been using Revell Contacta Professional liquid glue which has been good, but for my latest print id like some REALLY strong.

Ive read 3D Gloop is the best as its pretty much like having plastic joining prints, but it doesnt look like its available in the UK (and is quite pricey). I was wondering if there was something similar and cheapish anyone could recommend?

thanks!
Nick

Quite a few suggested in this thread, I can also recommend the scigrip. I’ve used the testors red tube quite a bit for things like eyes.

I have been using pva glue with the thinking that it is good enough to really make things grip the build plate, so I know it adheres to PLA well.

I don’t know just how much strength you are trying to get, but for all my uses it has been fine and is easy to work with for post sanding if I am assembling pieces together and need to smooth it down after.

I’m currently using Magigoo, but if you’re looking for a stronger hold, I’d recommend Magigoo Supergrip.

If you mean bonding parts together, then epoxy or cyanoacrylate (super glue) are usually the best options depending on the material.

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll take a look. I should have e said that I’m looking to glue on prints that haven’t been sanded or printed.

For reference, I’m making this print at 200% size so want the arms etc to stay on without any worries @nickholl.bsky.social on Bluesky
