Not only new to Bambu Labs, but to 3D printing as well…so excuse me if I’m asking simple questions.
Have shied away from 3D printing as, I’m a wargamer and didn’t want to grow my non-painted model pile any larger. Anyway took the plunge on Black Friday as I’d got a carry case on a Kickstarter that I fancied, and bought an A1 without AMS.
Anyway there are some 'settings that need to be set and one of the them is “Infill 50%”. In Bambu Studio there are 2 settings under strength and I don’t know which one to use:
Advanced > Infill/Wall Overlap
Sparse Infill > Sparse Infill Density
Which one is it referring to? Have messaged the creator but they are ignoring me.
Overlap just sets how strongly the infill and walls get tied together. The infill density is maybe what you are looking for.
In Bambu Studio get the model you’re interested in up and experiment. You’ll see the changes in the preview view and can run the slider up and down to see the layers and you can see the infill inside and how dense it is and how it’s shaped. 50% is really pretty dense and generally not needed unless you need lots of strength. For day to day stuff I’m generally down around 10% infill.
And there’s different infills that have different properties and strengths. Some have more strength in particular dimensions, some form ducts, some are really open in all directions to airflow, etc. Some cross itself and cause banging of the nozzle against the print which can dislodge tall prints.
