When to change the filament cutter?

I’ve got +1000 hours each on 2x P1S & 1x X1C with no cutter issues on any of them. Printing 90% PETG & the balance PLA, TPU & very small amount of PA-CF. While the PA-CF will cause the most wear, I’d expect a blunt cutter to have most problems with TPU, which I’m printing at the moment, but all is good. I’ll be doing a clean & lube on all Z axis leadscrews next week & think I’ll change cutters then, rather than wait for an issue.

holy heck. I have probably printed 100 rolls and never replaced the cutter

I saw these parts when I got the printer and finally came here to see what they were for and when to change it out. Well I have 1800 hours and run 3 AMS units and 0 problems to date. They are cheap so I guess next stop I’ll make the swap. :grimacing: I also had 1500 hours in my hot end and figured it was time to change it as when I had an Ender 3 I felt like I was changing out nozzles all the time. Man I hated that machine.
